Introduction of Coalbed Methane Specialized Committee(CBMSC) |

Established on
July 29th 2005, Coalbed Methane Specialized Committee(CBMSC)
is a subsidiary learned organization specializing in Coalbed
Methane(CBM) under China Coal Society(CCS). CBMSC is operated
by China United Coalbed Methane Corporation Ltd.(CUCBM).
The establishment of CBMSC was reviewed and preliminarily approved
by the fifth session of the fifth Standing Council Conference
of CCS, and officially approved by China Association For Science
and Technology and recorded by the Ministry of Civil Affairs
of the People’s Republic of China. CCS has confirmed the membership
structure of the first committee of CBMSC by its instrument
Zhongmeihuizi No.27 (2005).
The first committee of CBMSC consists of fifty-three members
including two honorary committee members, one director committee
member, five deputy director committee members and one for secretary-general
and deputy secretary-general. All the members hail from the
forty nine units of the industries of Coal, Oil as well as Land
and Resources, which includes enterprises, corporations, research
institutes, universities, foreign companies, and other units.
CBMSC is honored to invite Professor Mr. Chen Minghe and Research
Fellow Mr. Sun Maoyuan to be its honorary committee members.
CBMSC was established to coincide with oncoming commercial breakthrough
of China’s CBM exploration and development, increasing concern
over coal mine gas integral utilization, intensified shortage
of global energy supply. Thus CBMSC will actively make efforts
to the development of China’s CBM industry by serving as a
platform for CBM research activities and technology exchanges,
creating favorable conditions for advancement of CBM science
and technology and personnel training, as well as providing
excellent technical and consultation services for the CBM industry
of China. CBMSC would like to establish extensive contacts with
any relative institutes and organizations from the domestic
and overseas in order to jointly promote and push forward the
leaned exchanging and development of China’s CBM industry.
